Window$ Genuine Advantage (WGA) is an anti-piracy system enacted by Micro$oft that enforces Micro$oft Window$ online validation of the authenticity of several recent Micro$oft operating systems when accessing several Micro$oft Window$ services, such as Window$ Update, and downloading from the Micro$oft Download Center.

It also advertises Service Pack 2 for Window$ XP, which requires manual intervention to disable. Previously voluntary, it became mandatory for use of these services in July 2005.
